It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Vera Manchizh, a beacon of warmth and inspiration, who left us on July 13, 2024, at the age of 95. Born on June 28, 1929, in Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine, Vera's life was a tapestry of love, dedication, and unwavering faith.
Vera was more than a homemaker; she was the heart and soul of her family. Her hands, ever busy with sewing, baking, and cooking, crafted not just garments and meals, but memories and traditions that will be treasured for generations. A passionate gardener, she brought life and color to her surroundings, mirroring the abundant love she showered upon those around her. Vera’s devotion extended beyond her family to her spiritual life; she was an avid reader of her Bible and found solace and strength in her daily devotions.
Her commitment to helping others shone through her work as a Red Cross Volunteer, where she generously gave her time and energy to support those in need. Vera relished celebrating birthdays with her friends, creating moments of joy and connection, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and community spirit.
Vera was preceded in death by her beloved spouse, Michael Manchizh; her devoted parents, Pawlo & Ewdokia Kornilow; her siblings Maria, Victor, and Anthony; and her son-in-law, Denny. Despite these profound losses, she remained a pillar of strength and love for her surviving family.
She leaves behind her children: Sandy (Glenn) Berry, Annette Clark, Tammie Jackson, and Lucy (Kim) Allen; son-in-law Perry Jackson; grandchildren Stephen (Giovanna) Berry, Cassie (Nick) Seger, Kailey Allen, Nick (Hannah) Wedlick, Conner Allen, Daniel Jackson, and “Alex” Megan Jackson; and great-grandchildren Eliana, Enzo, Noah, Chloe, and Lilah. Each of them carries a piece of her enduring spirit and the lessons she imparted through her life’s example.
Vera Manchizh’s journey was one marked by compassion, resilience, and unending love. Though she has left this world, her legacy lives on in the hearts and actions of those who knew and loved her. Her life was a testament to the power of family, faith, and the simple joys of everyday living. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
