Charles Houston Northam, born on November 8, 1940, in Itawamba County, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2025, in Saline, Michigan, at the age of 84.
Chuck lived a fulfilling life surrounded by family and friends. He shared nearly 63 beautiful years with his beloved wife, Janice, to whom he was introduced by her uncle while serving in the Air Force. Together they built a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
A man of many passions, Chuck was an avid golfer, spending countless hours perfecting his swing. He found immense joy fishing with his brothers and never went anywhere without his trusty cowboy hat. Gathering around for spirited games of Euchre and Pinochle with his siblings, sons and nephews was a treasured pastime, one that reflected the close-knit bond he shared with them.
Chuck was a proud grandfather who delighted in spending time with his grandchildren, Stephanie, Kevin, Catt, and Emi. His enthusiasm for life was contagious, whether he was cheering on his favorite sports teams—the Tennessee Titans, Detroit Lions, Volunteers, and Wolverines—or singing his heart out with his karaoke machine.
Chuck and Janice found happiness in their retirement years in Tennessee, where they embraced the tranquility and beauty of their surroundings. A devoted member of both the American Legion and the Masons, Charles valued community and camaraderie deeply.
He leaves behind a loving family, including his wife Janice, their children Walt (Sheryl) Northam and Ed (Mary) Northam, his grandchildren and sister-in-law Barbara Northam. Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Anne Northam, his siblings Bill, James (Lucille), Donald (Bonnie), Alene, and Wayne, and brother-in-law Gary.
Chuck Houston Northam will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His spirit, warmth, and unwavering love for those around him have left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.
