Obituary

NESTOR, Joanne C., age 92, of Wyandotte, passed away on March 12, 2021, in her home of non-COVID-19 causes. She was born in Wyandotte in 1929 and the only child of Kate and Tony Kashynski (Kash). Joanne married Mark Nestor on August 28, 1949 and they created a family of four children, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Joanne is preceded in death by her husband Mark and her parents Kate and Tony. She is survived by her children Mark (Juanita) Nestor, Marcia (Richard) Hendricks, Gary (Deni) Nestor and Cheryl (Mark) Bowden. Dear grandmother of Steven Hendricks, Brian Hendricks, Molly (Casey) Eaton, Nathan (Michelle) Nestor, Cole Bowden and Kyle Bowden. Dearest great grandmother of Macy Nestor, Sonya Nestor and Maddox Eaton. Joanne survived a stroke for 34 years and was highly intelligent, compassionate, persevered through all and her family was the most important part of her life. She left a path of love and will be sorely missed by her family and remaining friends.

We are so sorry to hear of Joanne's passing. Jim recalls visiting as a child when he lived just a few blocks away. I came to know her later and she was always very kind and engaging. Mark, Marcia, Gary, and Cheryl, I am so sorry for your loss and the loss to all who knew Joanne. She was always such a gracious person through all she endured. I admired her calm demeanor as she glided through life, always encouraging with her soft voice and laughter and warm smile. I have so many memories of her that make me smile.
