Edwin Nelms, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on October 13, 2025, at the age of 82 in Trenton, Michigan. He was born on October 28, 1942, in Fort Worth, Texas, to the late Drew and Helen Nelms.
Edwin is survived by his devoted wife, Judith Nelms, who stood by his side throughout their many cherished years together. He leaves behind his loving children, Mark Nelms (wife Diane) and Kim Peterson (husband Greg), who will forever hold dear the wisdom and love he imparted to them. His grandson, Jacob Joseph Peterson, brought great joy to Edwin's life, and he took immense pride in watching him grow.
In addition to his immediate family, Edwin is survived by his in-laws, George and Sondra Arias, who shared countless special moments and family gatherings with him.
Edwin's passion for working on cars was well-known among those close to him. He found joy and satisfaction in meticulously restoring and maintaining automobiles, a hobby that allowed him to express his creativity and attention to detail.
Though Edwin has left this world, his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in his honor, ensuring that his legacy continues to make a difference in the lives of others.
