Eugene “Gene” Andrew Nagy was born on September 29, 1954 in Trenton, Michigan, and passed into eternal life on May 14, 2022 in Jackson, Michigan at the age of 67. Gene is the beloved husband to Cathy Nagy of 46 years. Together, they have one daughter, Brandy (Jessie) Farraj. Gene was also a father of the heart to Ellen (David) Vassallo, and Jenny O’Connor. Gene was the dearest grandfather to Jessie and Jordin, and a special grandfather of the heart to Sidney, Robbie, Rebecca, Bryanna, Andrew and Isabella. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Evelyn Nagy and by 5 nieces and 5 nephews. Gene is preceded in death by his sister, Judy Taylor, brother, James Nagy and his parents, James and Virginia. Gene had many interests and hobbies. He enjoyed golfing, woodworking, building and flying remote controlled airplanes, riding his Harley-Davidson with his wife, traveling to his home in Florida and staying there throughout the winter months. Gene was a handy man and often considered the jack of all trades. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting. Gene was also a part of a band and played the bass and piano. If someone were to describe Gene, a few specific words would be loving, caring and a friend to all. Gene will be dearly missed and eternally loved by his family and friends. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
