Obituary

NUTTER, Herbert, Jr., age 72, of Lincoln Park, August 19, 2018. Beloved husband of Virginia Nutter. Loving father of Sherry (Donald) Estheimer, Darla Frazier and Herbert (Jennifer) Nutter III. Dearest grandfather of Timmy, Annie, Nick, Daniel, Austin, Emily, Abby, Matthew and great-grandfather of Riley and Kinsley. He is also survived by his brothers John McMahon, Phil Nutter, Wayne Nutter and his sister Gail Maskell. Herbert Ross Nutter Jr., was a loving, good humored and dedicated family man who achieved so much in his 72 years. He was very proud of the life he and his wife built together and enjoyed watching his kids and grandkids through the years. There were many interests and hobbies he enjoyed including golfing, bowling, watching NASCAR, and playing the slots at the casinos with his wife. This eagle-eyed man, with one good eye, could see better than most of us with two good eyes. This was obvious in the beautifully detailed woodworks he crafted for his family. As a proud Vietnam Veteran, he loved serving his country. He always proudly dispayed the American flag, and wore patriotic t-shirts that usually included a bald eagle and flag on them. He dedicated thirty years of his life to his career as a journeyman Iron Worker. Through injury, sickness and slow downs, he always took care of his family. Herb was always known for loving Dodge vehicles, especially the Ram truck. To many, he appeared to have a tough exterior, but underneath that was a great sense of humor and caring heart. He showed his soft side when he became good buddies with a Yellow-Naped Amazon Parrot named, Rascal.Through the recent years of health issues, he always showed an iron will to overcome the challenges he faced. Also during the trying times, he was always able to maintain his good sense of humor, love and laughter. We will miss him deeply and our lives will never be the same without him. He is preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Helen Nutter, his sister Darlene Laskowski and his brother Rodger Rhiel.
