Obituary

O’Neal, Nicholas R., age 24, of Rockwood, July 6, 2022. Beloved son of Russel (Jill) O’Neal Jr., Karen (Joe) Wright, and Heather O'Neal. Loving brother to Katie (John) Kennedy, Chris (Brandi Melvin) O’Neal, Connor O’Neal, and his step-siblings Sara (Cody) Ratcliffe, Alex Maiale, Dakota Essary, and his niece Quinn Kennedy. He is preceded in death by his grandmothers Nancy Bechtel, Mary O’Neal, and grandfather Carroll Bechtel.

Nick had the kindest heart and loved his family with his entire being. His soft spoken, quiet demeanor was always the voice of reason in any situation. He had the most gentle and kindest soul. He loved spending time outdoors, always looking for his next adventure, whether it be on a kayak, longboard, or just walking along the Huron River. He appreciated the simple things in life.

He found joy in helping others; at work, home, family, strangers, or even saving innocent ducks in the middle of the road.

A close friend of his said, "you either loved Nick or you hadn't met him." Nick was loved by so many and has left a mark on every person he's encountered in his short time here on earth.
