Obituary

Charles Andrew Pearson, born on October 25, 1931, in Detroit, Michigan, departed this life on March 15, 2025, in Canton, Michigan. He was 93 years old.

Charles dedicated much of his professional life to working with Ford Motor Company, specializing in parts, where he was known for his diligence and commitment. Beyond his career at Ford, Charles had a passion for cultivating tomatoes. His cherished greenhouses were a testament to this love, and he proudly sold his produce at the Eastern Market, sharing the fruits of his labor with the community.

In his later years, Charles found joy in woodworking, crafting beautiful pieces of furniture that reflected his artisan spirit. An avid enthusiast of air guns, he spent many afternoons behind the barn, enjoying the simple pleasure of shooting. His interest in firearms extended to a collection of gun magazines, which he read with great enthusiasm.

Charles held a deep respect for those who served their country and was an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), where he forged lasting friendships and contributed to a supportive community.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Margaret Pearson. His legacy continues in the hearts of those who survive him: his devoted wife, Helen Pearson; his children, Michel (Maria) Pearson, Charles (Yvonne) Pearson, Pamela Pearson, and Kath Pearson; four beloved grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Charles will be remembered for his steadfast work ethic, his love for family, and his varied interests that enriched his life and the lives of those around him. His presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Condolences

  • Mr Pearson was a very kind man. He made me a wooden name plate for my desk in the 90's. All these years later I think of him when I look at it. So sorry for your loss. Marla Ritchie O'Neal
