Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Dewey Denvil "Dude" Partin, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Dewey was born on April 26, 1934, in Barbourville, Kentucky, and passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on October 15, 2024, in Dearborn Heights, Michigan.

Dewey embraced life with zest and passion, finding joy in golfing, fishing, hunting, gardening. His generous spirit and delightful sense of humor brightened the lives of all who knew him. A lifelong Mason since the 1970s, Dewey organized spirited golf outings and cherished his involvement with the community.

Dewey married the love of his life, Juanita Partin (Campbell), on March 20, 1954, and together they shared a beautiful union that stood strong for 68 years until her passing. He found immense pleasure in spending time with his family, creating treasured memories, and nurturing the bonds that held them close. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him endless joy, and he adored every moment spent in their company. Dude was a man who found immense joy in the presence of children, especially his beloved grandchildren. His face would light up at the sight of little ones, and he loved sharing jokes with anyone who would listen, with his favorite prank being about the "mouse in his pocket." Throughout his long and healthy life, he exemplified kindness and selflessness, always offering assistance and a place to stay to those in need. A true pillar in his community, Dude was not only a great neighbor but also someone who consistently looked out for others.

A true sports enthusiast, Dewey cheered for the Detroit Lions, Tigers, and Michigan teams with unwavering loyalty. He delighted in football squares and had a keen enthusiasm for betting on NASCAR, keeping meticulous records of his sporting bets. Music filled Dewey's heart, especially the melodies of Bluegrass and country tunes. He enjoyed life's simple pleasures, never hesitating to sprinkle salt on everything, even watermelon.

Dewey was known as a devoted family man and provider, always ready to help those in need, offering assistance and sharing his warmth with open arms. As a young man, he sent packages to his mother and siblings, ensuring they could celebrate Christmas together. His wife's Thanksgiving meals were among his favorite traditions, and he cherished every visit back to Kentucky, his birthplace.

Dewey is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Juanita Partin; daughter, Brenda Partin; parents, Lillie and Gordon Partin; and siblings, Robert Lee Partin, Beatrice Carr, and William Partin.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and togetherness, cherished by his surviving family: children John Partin, Donna “Suzy” Bravo, and Denise (Theodore) Wagner; grandchildren Elizabeth (Daniel) Lock, Robert Herdzik, Jennie (Emre) Cosar, and David Bravo; great-grandchildren Drake, Evelyn, and Aria; and sister Mary Alice Siler.

Dewey's lasting impression as a friend, neighbor, and cornerstone of his family will be remembered and celebrated forever. His memory lives on in the hearts of those he dearly loved, offering solace and strength in the days ahead.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice.
