Obituary
Jannifer M. Petroff, aged 80, passed away on October 24, 2025, in Chelsea, Michigan. Born on December 11, 1944, in Wyandotte, Michigan, Jannifer led a life dedicated to education, community, and family.
Jannifer devoted her professional career to the Wyandotte Public Schools, where she served with distinction as a Teacher, Counselor, Assistant Principal, and ultimately as Principal from 1967 to 2004. Her commitment to nurturing young minds and supporting educational growth left a lasting impact on countless students and colleagues.
A lifelong learner, Jannifer pursued higher education with determination and passion. She earned a Bachelor's Degree from Albion College, followed by a Master's and an Education Specialist degree from Eastern Michigan University.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Jannifer found joy in her personal interests. She loved to read, walk, and engage in various forms of needlework, including cross stitching, needlepoint, and crochet. These hobbies brought her peace and fulfillment throughout her life.
Jannifer was a dedicated member of St. Paul Orthodox Church and Chelsea United Methodist Church. She cherished her involvement with Zeta Tau Alpha, where she formed lasting friendships and connections.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Peter S. Petroff, and her parents, Alfonso and Ottie Milantoni, Jannifer is survived by her dear sister, Michele Milantoni, along with many friends and former students who will remember her fondly.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Research Hospital or Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah, in honor of Jannifer's loving and generous spirit.
