Jimmy Odell Plyler, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on November 13, 2025, in Carleton, Michigan, at the age of 68. Born on February 18, 1957, in Detroit, Michigan, he brought joy and love to all who knew him through his gentle spirit and unwavering kindness.
Jimmy's life was enriched by his deep love for animals, a passion that brought him great happiness and fulfillment. He was known for his warm heart and the special connection he shared with every creature he encountered. His family and friends will remember him fondly as a proud grandpa and a devoted fan of Michigan football, a sport he followed with enthusiasm and pride.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Earnest and Annie Plyler, and his brothers, Doug, Johnny and Earnest. Their memories and legacy shaped him into the man he became, and their absence is deeply felt by those who survive him.
Jimmy leaves behind his cherished wife, Holly, who stood by his side through every moment of their shared journey. He is lovingly remembered by his children, Nicole (Nate) Lawe and Michael (Carleana) Plyler, who carry forward his values and love. His grandchildren, Nathan, Lainey, Nicholas, Lizzie, Jaelyn, Jolene, Remmy, Bliss, and Meadow, were the lights of his life, bringing him immeasurable joy and pride.
He is also survived by his brother, Gary Plyler. Jimmy's presence will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
