Obituary

Mary Ann Christine Pinter, 84, of New Boston, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 9th while surrounded by the family she loved so dearly.

Born on December 25th, 1940 to her parents George Frederich Eicholtz and Ivedell Lurene Burghardt, Mary Ann lived a life filled with love, faith, and devotion. She shared a beautiful and enduring love story with her high school sweetheart, Louis Pinter whom she shared 62 years of marriage with. Her partner in life and heart, she always said Lou was her greatest blessing. They were together until her very last breath, with him holding her hand as she passed.

Above all, she loved her family and was proud of her kids and grandkids. She loved attending their sporting events and was often heard yelling “3 seconds” at basketball games. Throughout her life, she was a pillar of strength and compassion, constantly putting others before herself. Her home was a place of warmth, where love was shared over home-cooked apple pies and little loaves, heartfelt conversations, and countless cherished memories.

Mary Ann’s faith guided every step, and she devoted herself to her church community, giving her time, energy, and heart to those in need. She was a 60-year member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Waltz. During this time, she participated in the church choir, was a member of Ladies Aide, counted money, taught Sunday School, visited shut ins, served on Alter guild, and oversaw the potato pancake supper for most of her life.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and faith- one that will live on in the lives of those who knew her. Mary Ann is survived by her loving husband Louis Pinter, her children Chris Trezise (Doug), Rick Pinter, Scott Pinter (Melissa) Jennifer Grant (Tony), and grandchildren Hannah, Mitchell, Dillon, Abby, Claire, Ava, Josh, and Noah.

Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that she lived a life full of love and purpose. We are grateful to have had loved her so much that saying goodbye is so hard.
