Obituary

Susan Linda Pietras, age 75, of Farmington Hills, Michigan passed away on Monday, August 12, 2024 at Henry Ford Hospital where she participated in the Gift of Life program.

She was born on June 17, 1949 in Detroit and shared her birthday with her beloved grandmother. She was the daughter of Alex John Zsenyuk and Ruth Shirley White who preceded her in death.

Susie was retired from Plante and Moran where she was their Facility Manager. She had also served as an HR Manager for McDonald's Corporation for many years. Following college, she was an airline attendant transporting Vietnam soldiers to home or different locations and for the rest of her life advocated for Vietnam vets.

She was a steward of this planet and was dedicated to recycling, protecting, and preserving our natural environment. She took voting seriously and was a strong advocate for women’s rights and the future of young women. She loved wildlife and domestic animals and often volunteered or donated to those causes. She loved interior design and was very talented in that area. She spent time at her condo in Florida and often would recount what marine life she was enjoying on the inter-coastal. She and her friends, Bonnie and Karen, took frequent day trips that they enjoyed.

Susie is survived by friends and family and her special fur-babies, Luke and Chief.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Alan William Zsenyuk.

Per her wishes, cremation has taken place, and a memorial luncheon is planned at Hungarian Rhapsody Restaurant, 14315 Northline Road, Southgate on September 28, 2024 at 12:00 PM.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Ease the Day Program at Chelsea Senior Center, 512 Washington Street, Chelsea, MI 48118 or any animal rescue organization.
