Obituary

Barbara A. Ray of Romulus passed away in her home at the age of 57 on June 25, 2020. Barbara was an extremely hard-working woman and her work always meant a lot to her. She was the general manager at Jet’s Pizza for nearly two decades. Her granddaughters affectionately named her ‘Pizza Grandma’ and loved to visit her at work. Barbara loved to work in her flower gardens and spend time outside in the sun. She was widely-known for her baking and crafting talents. It wasn’t a holiday without home-made decorations spread throughout the house and her preparing way too many desserts. Barbara treasured the time she spent with her family, especially when she had the chance to have card nights with her kids or decorate cookies with her granddaughters. Barbara was a loving mother to Kyle Ray, Spencer Ray, and Andrea (Paul) DiGiovanni, and dear grandmother to Claire Ray and Mila Ray. She was a dear sister of Stephanie Kositz, Monica McGowan, Michele Cousino, Don Nyeste, and Beth Nyeste. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Nancy Nyeste.

Condolences

  • I have so many fond memories of Barb ,growing up,her getting married ,great Chrismas’s at someone’s house every year Halloween was a good time, Christmas carroling always brought in ALOT of money and fun all the fun at Aunt Jennie’s and Uncle Sam’s we all did so much with them ,I think of Barb everyday and realize how much I miss her .When she was in the nursing home,Monica and I took Whitecastle Barb only took one bite but she wrapped her hands around it like a Whopper,it was cute but sad .I know it’s been a year already I should have done this sooner . I’d text Barb to see how she’s feeling some days it was”not very good” she’d reply and I didn’t text her back because I didn’t want to know the extent of her suffering , I will never forgive myself. Barb helped me out a few times which was always appreciated ,if Barb was in your life for one reason or another, you were lucky I hope she knew how much I loved her and always will . Michele Michele
