Obituary
RUSHLOW (Baker), Eva May, age 96, of Brighton, Michigan passed away on March 18th, 2022.
She was born August 28, 1925, in Aim Arbor to Nellie (Saxton) and Floyd Baker.
After graduating from high school, she worked in a factory during World War II and was a
supportive Army wife of the late Kenneth A. Briggs. They were blessed with a daughter, Trudy and
a son, Tommy. She was ahead of her time, working outside the home at various jobs including
Office Manager at the University of Michigan College of Engineering Placement Office.
In 1975, Eva became the beloved wife of Joseph Ernest Rushlow and they combined their 5
children; Trudy Briggs, Tommy Briggs, Mike (Karen) Rushlow, Diana (the late Harold) Harmon and
Susan (Tom) Thill. Their family has grown to 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 22
great-great-grandchildren. Eva was a wonderful and loving grandmother and was affectionately
known as Grammy. With a strong devotion and appreciation of family, Eva (Blue Eyes) along with
her husband Joseph provided many experiences creating close family ties. Entering retirement
together they worked a farm, lived On a lake, and wintered in Florida providing get away adventures
for family and friends. Eva loved playing cards, games, she taught Mahjong and the Hawaiian
guitar. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, archery and was an avid reader. She was preceded in death
by her first husband Kenneth A. Briggs, second husband Joseph Ernest Rushlow, son Tommy
Briggs, sister Marvel Dysinger, granddaughter Tami Doherty, and great-grandson Garrett Briggs.
Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 25th at 10:30am at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 711
Rickett Road, Brighton, Michigan 48116. There will be visitation time preceding mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gift of Garrett Fund, 219 Estates Drive, Troy, Missouri 63379 in memory of Eva's late Great- Grandson.
