Obituary
Evelyn Marie Rode, born on October 22, 1932, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, passed away on April 21, 2026, in Southgate, Michigan, at the age of 93.
Evelyn was a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, known for her warm spirit and vibrant personality. Her love for life was evident through her many passions and hobbies. A devoted member of The Red Hats, she brought joy and laughter wherever she went. Evelyn had a knack for card games and was renowned for her unbeatable skills at the table, always ready for a friendly challenge. An avid bowler, she spent countless hours at the lanes, enjoying the camaraderie of friends and family.
Her love of travel took her on numerous adventures, often favoring bus trips that provided her with the opportunity to explore new places and meet new people. Closer to home, she could often be found at the senior center, delighting in the lively bingo games and the company of her fellow enthusiasts.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ellsworth "Al" Rode; her parents, Queriro and Concetta Rainaldi; her siblings, Albert Rainaldi (Eleanor Oberch), Robert Rainaldi, and Dora Zinnser (Earl).
She is survived by her children, David (Riah) Rode, Kenneth (Kim) Rode, Susanne (Paul) Richardson, and Lance Rode; her eight grandchildren, Jessica Rode, Danielle Rode, Tyler (Morgan) Rode, Natalie Rode, Sarah Richardson, Rachel Richardson, David Richardson, and Mary Richardson; her dear sister, Edith Simonetti.
Evelyn's legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will deeply miss her loving presence, her infectious laughter, and her indomitable spirit.
