Obituary

Renkiewicz, Garret J., age 27, of Sumpter Township, November 24, 2022. Beloved significant other to Yvonne Amwake. Dearest dad to his furbaby Husky’s Kilo and Diesel. Loving son to Joseph (Kimberly) Renkiewicz and Sandra Stanfield. He is survived by his siblings Meagan Renkiewicz, Troy (Tina) Renkiewicz, and Eric (Teresa) Renkiewicz. He is preceded in death by his grandfather Harold Stanfield.

Garret graduated from the University of Toledo in 2019 with his Bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering Technology and a minor in Business. After college, Garret worked for Broadway Express Trucking, managing various roles including sales and communications. Garret developed a passion for finance and business models, wishing to eventually pursue a career in investment and financial advisory.

Garret enjoyed spending his free time watching sports, playing euchre, having UFC fight nights, and playing video games with family and friends. He had a passion for health and fitness and loved playing basketball and football. Garret loved living and traveling with his best friend and love of his life, Yvonne, whom he often referred to as his “guardian angel”. They traveled at any opportunity he had, including out-of-state trips to national parks and exploring various cities in Northern Michigan. He loved to spend time up north at his father's cabin, riding ATVs and taking multiple snowmobile trips to the Upper Peninsula with family and friends. Garret had a love for comedy and spent his free time watching stand-up specials and other comedic podcasts. Garret had a wonderful ability to make those around him laugh and enjoyed doing so.

Garret will be remembered most for his discipline, humor, and vigor for life. He carried himself with poise and grace, even while enduring insurmountable hardships. He loved his family and friends dearly and was an amazing son, brother, friend, and partner. He will truly be missed and never forgotten.
