Gary Kermit Richardson, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on September 17, 2026, in Monroe, Michigan.
Born on November 24, 1945, in Presque Isle, Maine. Gary was the beloved son of the late James Richardson and Valeria Okel Howell Richardson. He was preceded in death by his brother, Phillip Richardson of Utah.
Gary spent his early years in Maine, where he developed a love for the outdoors that would remain with him throughout his life. He found joy in hunting, fishing, and gardening, pursuits that reflected his deep appreciation for nature’s beauty and bounty.
In 1966, Gary married the love of his life, Connie McKinney, originally from Kentucky. Together, they built a loving home in South Rockwood, Michigan, where they resided for 55 years. Their marriage, which spanned 60 wonderful years, was a testament to their enduring love and commitment to one another.
Gary dedicated his professional life to skilled trades, specializing in machine repair. He retired in 2008 from the Chrysler Toledo Assembly Plant in Toledo, Ohio, after many years of dedicated service. His work ethic and expertise were respected and admired by colleagues and friends alike.
Family was at the heart of Gary's life. He is survived by his cherished wife, Connie; his son, Gary Christopher (Patricia) Richardson of Monroe, Michigan; and his daughter, Michelle (Michael) Scott of Newport, Michigan. He was a proud grandfather to Bailey Richardson and Gary William Richardson of Monroe, Michigan, and Hannah (John) Krupa of Temperance, Michigan. Gary took great pleasure in attending his grandchildren's events, always their biggest supporter and fan.
He is also survived by his siblings, Sylvia Stiles (Mark) of Utah, Glenda Arnett of Maine, Robert Richardson of Utah, and David Richardson of Maine, who will remember him fondly as a loving brother.
Gary's legacy is one of love, dedication, and a life well-lived. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
