Obituary

Loretta Reeves, born on April 27, 1948, in Brownsville, Texas, passed away on January 22, 2026, in Southgate, Michigan, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 77.

Loretta was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was marked by her steadfast dedication to her family and community. A 1975 graduate of Ross Medical School, she spent many years working diligently, providing care and compassion to those she served.

Her faith and love for helping others were evident through her volunteer work at St. Vincent de Paul and her active involvement in her church community. Loretta's passion for service also extended beyond borders during her missionary work in Mexico, where she touched many lives with her kindness and generosity.

In her leisure time, Loretta found joy in watching her favorite television shows and cherished every moment spent with her beloved family. Her warmth, humor, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Loretta is preceded in death by her parents, Juanita Contreras Gonzales and Manuel Pardon Rodriquez, and her sister, Gloria Parker. She is survived by her loving children, Corrine (Richard) Patterson and Gloria Truscott; her adoring grandchildren, Richard (Sandra), Brooke (Ray), Ashley (Joshua), Jocelyn (Diontay), and Amber; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Ty, Alyssa, Edward, Jax, Mya, Eliana, Marilyn, Riley, and Joshua. Also mourning her passing are her siblings, Wanda (Joe) Bobbitt, Bernice Rodriquez, and Tony Rodriquez, along with many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Loretta's legacy of love, faith, and service will continue to inspire those who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Make a Wish foundation.

  • She was my Mom. and I am gonna miss her more than anything. I had moved out of Michigan in 09 but I kept in touch with her seeing her when I could. . It breaks my heart ❤️ that I can’t see her for one last time due to an unexpected emergency that came up preventing me from going. I just want everybody to know that my mom was a wonderful person. She went out of her way for me so many times to make sure I had things that I needed it. She was always there for me and made sacrifices for herself when I needed her and she took me in when I needed a place to stay when things in my life were just so bad. I love you mom ❤️you will be in my heart always and forever. You are resting peacefully now may the bright light in heaven shine upon you in peacefulness. Love you always and forever your daughter Gloria. Gloria Truscott
