ROBERGE, Louis G, age 94, originally of River Rouge, raised his family in Southgate and retired in Hale, passed away on January 17, 2022. He joined the 9th Army Air Corp serving in Europe during WWII, worked at Nicholson Terminal & Dock for over 50 years and served as President of Local 46 of the IUMSWA for over 10 years. He was the beloved husband of Rose Mary Roberge for nearly 72 years, and a loving father of Gloria (Carl) Gearin, Victoria (Ron) Brugger, Keith Roberge, Jeannine (Robert) Hamill, and Dean (Deana) Roberge. He was also the dearest grandfather of Scot, Deanna, Brian, Nicholas, Lindsay, Brittany, Natalie, Tommy, Briana, Chelsea, Madeline, Kaley, and Louis. Beloved great-grandfather of many. He is also survived by his sisters Cecil Bouchard, Lorraine Serafin, and Pearl McClain. He was preceded in death by his parents Albert Roberge and Claire Jalbert, his sister Nancy Tieppo and his brother Henry Roberge. His cremation took place at “The Witness Crematory” located inside of Michigan Memorial Funeral Home.

Grandpa, you never failed to make me smile or laugh even when I was trying to be serious and would say “that’s not funny,” which would turn into our long running joke. You were an amazing Grandfather, Father, and Husband. My favorite memories with you are from the the summer I stayed with you and Grandma at the lake. I’m sad I can no longer physically give you a hug but I know I have the best guardian angel watching over me.
