Obituary

Mary Ratliff, born on August 20, 1965, in Wyandotte, passed away at the age of 59 on November 5, 2024, in Ypsilanti. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of many with her warmth and kindness.

Mary cherished her family above all else and found great joy in spending time with her loved ones. Her interests were varied and included a passion for cross-stitching, a love for reading, and a deep devotion to her family and grandchildren. The Christmas season held a special place in her heart, and she celebrated it with enthusiasm and joy. She was also an avid collector of snow globes, which brought her great delight.

A former Girl Scout Leader, Mary dedicated her time to nurturing and guiding young minds. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Nora Wild, whose memory she lovingly honored throughout her life.

Mary is survived by her devoted husband, Richard Ratliff; her children, Paul Wild, Molly (Seth) Kruszewski, and Peter Ratliff; and her adored grandchildren, Everett Wild, Laurel Kruszewski, Kieran Kruszewski, and Greyson Ratliff. She is also survived by her siblings, Margret (David) Wilson, James (Alison) Wild, and Christopher (Vanessa) Wild.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The American Heart Association, Diabetes, or Cancer. Mary’s legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire those who knew her, and her memory will remain forever in our hearts.

Condolences

  • Mary was a fellow classmate from Flat Rock High School class of 1983. I remember her as being very smart and quiet. I hope she had a wonderful life. Scott Edward Beaudrie
