Obituary

Melanie Christina Rode' was born at 3:01pm on January 7, 1981, at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn, Michigan. She peacefully passed away surrounded by her loved ones at 1:32am on June 1, 2024, in her home in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, at the young age of 43 after bravely battling Multiple Myeloma.

Melanie leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and kindness that touched the hearts of all who knew her. Her memory will forever be cherished by her beloved wife, Nichole Rode', and their children Samantha (Jonathan) Lambert, Jessica (Jacob) Wendler, Miranda Shaffer, Carlie Shaffer and Irelynn Saplatnik. Her mother, Teresa Rhodes, father, Owen Rode, sister, Tanya (Carolyn) Gray, mother-in-law, Rebecca Gray, sister-in-law, Lindsay (Arlen) Vuocolo, nieces, Brittany Gray, Lyric Vuocolo, nephews, Travis Richards and Caleb Richards, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many amazing friends.

The warmth of her spirit lives on in her three fur babies, Paisley Ann, Kane Brown, and Dolly Marie.

Melanie's greatest joy was found in her role as a Gigi to eight grandchildren - Eliott, Dominick, Nicholas, Arabella, Natalie, Jace, Gracelyn, and Averi, who meant the world to her.

She is reunited in peace with her grandparents, Peggy Rhodes, Howard Rhodes, Lionel Ivor Rode' and Kathleen Thomas Rode'
uncles, aunts, and great aunt who have gone before her.

"Last Ride" Harley Davidson Hearse participants are welcome to honor Mel in a unique tribute ending at Michigan Memorial Cemetery. There, a rose petal drop and a short Graveside Service will be held.

Following the final resting place, a Luncheon will be hosted at
Shot Makers, 12045 Dix Toledo Rd., Southgate, 48195, for all to come together and share memories of Melanie.

Melanie Christina Rode' will forever be remembered for her quick wit, resilience, love, and unwavering devotion to her family. May her spirit continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she touched.
