Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rachel Louise Ramirez, who departed this life on June 6, 2026, at the age of 48. Rachel was born on May 26, 1978, in Dearborn, Michigan, a place she cherished and called home throughout her life.

Rachel was a woman of many passions. She found immense joy in reading and writing, often immersing herself in stories both as a creator and a passenger. An artist at heart, her creativity knew no bounds, and she expressed her artistic vision in various forms. Music played a significant role in her life, whether through the melodies she crafted on the piano or the wide array of tunes she loved to listen to. Additionally, Rachel enjoyed the vibrant worlds within video games, where adventure and imagination came alive.

Family was of utmost importance to Rachel. She was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Donald Foulkes. She leaves behind her cherished mother, Cynthia Woods; her children, Domanic Pongracz, Jason (Lindsey) Chartier, and Alyssa Edney, who were the light of her life; her siblings, David (April) Woods, Dan Woods, and Sarah Hoffa, who shared countless memories and laughter with her; and her dear aunts, Alana Wilson and Julie Tomlinson, who provided support and love.

Rachel's legacy continues through her nephews and nieces, Damien Hoffa, Davin Woods, Taylor Rogers, Madison Woods, and Hayley. Her cousins, Annalee Wilson, Suzzy McGill, and Danielle McGill, her great-niece, Ember Rogers, along with her treasured friend, Brooke Socha, will hold her memory close.

As we reflect on Rachel's life, we remember a vibrant spirit, full of love and creativity, who touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered by her family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Rachel’s honor to a no-kill animal shelter of your choice or Diabetes Type 1 Research.

Condolences
