Obituary
Beatrice Amy Scanlon, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, passed away on March 11, 2026, in Monroe, Michigan. She was born on February 23, 1938, in Wyandotte, Michigan, and lived a life full of love and dedication to her family and community. Beatrice was 88 years old at the time of her passing.
Throughout her life, Beatrice devoted herself to caring for others, working as a caregiver with compassion and kindness. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her professional life into her personal passions. Beatrice found joy in cooking and baking, often sharing her delicious creations with her family. She also had a green thumb, delighting in planting flowers and tending to her garden, where she found peace and beauty in nature.
Beatrice was a strong and caring woman, whose love for her family was evident in all she did. She is preceded in death by her son, William Scanlon; her sisters, Eleanor and Mary; and her brothers, Buster and Ralph.
She leaves behind a legacy of love through her surviving children: Jamie Kitka, Robin (Tom) Miller, and Tammy Scanlon. Her memory will be cherished by her grandchildren: Stephanie Kitka, Amy Scanlon, Jackie (Juan) Rodriguez, Alex (Amber) Kitka, Sandra Miller, Jessica (Sean) Marlor, Megan (Steven) Spears, and TommiLee (Justin) Powers. Beatrice was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Aspen, Benjamin, Stephen, Caden, Dominic, Destiny, Joe, Arieonna, Maximus, Everlee, Liam, Declan, Finn, Leah, Dalyla, Shaelyn, Ariah, Alejandro, Braylee, and Micaela, as well as a great-great-grandchild, Harlow.
She is also survived by her sister, Marge (David) Antieau, and her brother, Greg Naumann, along with many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at Michigan Memorial Funeral Home, followed by a service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Michigan Memorial Park.
