Bernice E. Stiefel of Dearborn Heights, Mi. went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sept. 3,2019. Born November 8, 1924 in Port Huron, Mi., she was the daughter of Glenn and Margaret Caulkett. Bernice met Jake Stiefel in Port Huron, Mi,; they married on August 26, 1944 in Ubly, Mi. Jake and Bernice resided in Port Huron until 1960, when they moved to Dearborn Heights. Bernice enjoyed being a stay-at-home mother and housewife. Bernice is preceded in death by her beloved husband Jake, her brother Glenn and her parents. She is survived by her children, Ronald Stiefel of Dearborn Heights; Margaret (Richard) Haman of Flat Rock; and granddaughter Kimberly (Robert) Eberly and their daughter Katherine Elizabeth of Gainsville, Ga.; granddaughter Krystal Beruvides and her son Preston Jacob of Orlando, Fl. Bernice is also survived by her sister Delores Stark, sister-in-laws Mary Williams, Martha Coleman, Joan Stiefel and brother-in-laws Robert (Verlene) Stiefel, William (Carol) Stiefel, Denver Harmon and several nieces and nephews.
