Condolences

  • Barb and Sheri I am so sorry to hear of your mother/grandmother's passing. I know she was a big part of your lives and will truly be missed. RIP Celeste M Sieli
  • I have had Betty in my thoughts for many years, although I have not seen her. She was always positive, happy and spirited. I am blessed to have met her at Praise Fellowship so many years ago. The times spent trying to grab another of her yummy No-Bake Oatmeal cookies and sharing meals at Nello's after church are happy memories of time spent with Betty. So happy to know you are resting in the arms of your Savior now. Sue Walton
  • We are so very sorry for your loss. Please know that you all are in our thoughts and prayers. God has welcomed another angel. May He bless your family with his healing hands in the weeks to come. Mark & Connie Ziegler
  • For any of the family who may find themselves here during these difficult times, there is something each of you should know. We all had different relationships with Grandma, however.... yes, she actually did have a favorite. Aunt Barb- you were her favorite because YOU were the one who made Gram a Mom. You always thought of her and her needs in everything... not just after Grandpa went to heaven, but your whole life. You dedicated a day every week to spending time with her, doing her hair for longer than I have been alive; and when it really mattered- you were the one who allowed the end of her life to be less scary, and you gave her the gift of comfort and dignity at home. I truly believe you were Grandma's best friend, and she yours. Son Richard- you were her favorite because YOU always made her laugh, kept her on her toes, enjoyed up north with Grandpa, and she always knew you would be there if she needed anything. In addition because of you, she got a bonus first grandson and the precious gift to our whole family of another daughter, aunt, and sister when you married Aunt Vicky. Aunt Vicky- You were her favorite, not because you became her trusted landscaping genius that brought her so much joy, not because you were her choice casino buddy, but because YOU became the daughter who she never expected and whom she shared precious time consistently. When she spoke of you, she always said she was so glad that she got to love you and be loved by you, how special you were to her and that she honestly felt you were the most genuine and gentle person she knew. Jude- You were her favorite because with you Gram was able to share her faith and some of her deepest thoughts and personal struggles. You brought wonderful people into her life, you took the lead in caring for Grandpa, and you shared the last 20 years of Mamie with her. You gave her comfort that was consistent and genuine. You kept the feeling of youth around her, made her laugh, showed her new experiences, and because of YOU, Aaron, Grandma was able to find God in a more gentle, loving, compassionate landscape- one she desperately searched for since coming to know the Lord. Sheri- You were her favorite because YOU made Grandma a Grand-mom for the first time. All those years living so close to her, the Sundays at church and years with Great Grandma Ziegler were priceless to her. She got the most years with you, and truly for Gram, you could do no wrong. You made her laugh, you made her feel loved, and you made everything more fun. You also gave her a bonus grandson in Kevin, who she was so glad God sent for you to share your life and our family with. Chris- You, CBS, were Gram's favorite because YOU gave her the only great grand-daughters in the family. You always made Gram laugh and she lit up EVERY time she got to spend time with you. Matt- You were her favorite because you kept her on her toes the most. Gram seemed to love attention and time from you more than most of her favorite things. You gave her the first and most great-grand kids and the gift of a bonus granddaughter in Kelly. You made her laugh from the time you were born right up to the last night she spent with us all. Your long phone conversations were some of her favorite things, and she enjoyed so much the time she got to spend with you in your adolescence. You reminded her so much of Grandpa in your life loves, and she was most proud of how much you looked like her side of the family. Tyler- You may not have gotten to spend the most time with Grandma Sikes, but should you see this, YOU were favored because you made her a Great Grand-mom first. She loved you even in the absent years, and always made sure to mention how she longed to get to know you. Coming back into her life, you gave her a much waited for gift. Colin- You were Gram's favorite because YOU were Grandpa's namesake and in such made the end of his life so joyful. You were the only great grandchild Grandpa got to hold. You continued into adulthood with regular calls, visits, overnights, and special stop in lunches. Grandma used to tell everyone that you were a very special young man, years ahead of your age, smart, and mostly... she was not afraid or ashamed to say to others, that you were not just her grandson, but you were her friend, she noted all those conversations with you made her feel overwhelmingly loved and happy. Josh- Oh Josh, Grandma's buddy. All the afternoons after school, chorus events, overnights, and visits to church with gram made YOU her favorite. It was more than evident that you two were so close, you worked in tandem on everything. Everyone in our family knows that you and she had a very special relationship. Of the great-grand kids, you were who she for many years, planned her days around and for... and she loved it. Noah- Like Son Richard 2.0 you always made grandma laugh and pushed the limits, which she whole-heartedly loved. You shared sleepovers of hours of sharing your interests with one another. Gram was the only person who you would share food with :) and through your constant contact with her, she got to watch you blossom from a cheeky little boy to a man she was so very proud to call her grandson- she loved every extra thing about you. YOU were the one who could get gram to do ANYTHING and it seemed you both were wrapped around the other's little finger. Ben & Spencer - You were gram's favorites because you both extended Gram's love of having little grandkids. YOU brought new life into the family, your personalities amazed her and she was just so blessed to have you continue a stream of endless fun into her life. Al- You were Gram's favorite because not only did you give her Colin and Noah... but you never ended your relationship with Grandmom no matter where life went. YOU gave her another line of family in your wonderful parents (and another line of casino memories) like no one else did. You made sure to continue a close relationship so much so that she remembered every important date in your family history with cards or phone calls. You were the man who helped grandpa tinker, loved him and her like your own and she never negated asking how you were doing during times between your visits with her. Kelly- You were the favorite because you were patient in every hour of countless shopping trips, outings, and in many cases times Gram needed a bit of extra supervision on her cheeky self. YOU kept in close contact, and have been in Gram's world for longer than all the favorite 'great-grands'. She always looked forward to our trouble making, fun having, and most of all, laughter. You were given the gift of a wonderful set of Grandparents and your dedication and love in all you did showed how thankful you were, and that you realized how important you were to her, too. Shane- You were her favorite for the most important reason. YOU watched over her actual favorite for the last four years and never said a word that in the four years you have been in the family, Grandma always came first. I love each of you and hope you always hold dear each memory you shared with this amazing woman we all got to know and who was EVERYONE's favorite. Beck. Beck
