Obituary
Darleen Joyce Sanders, born on November 28, 1942, in Detroit, passed away on December 6, 2024, in Wyandotte, at the age of 82.
Darleen was a cherished member of the community and found companionship and joy as part of the Southgate Senior Center. Her presence brought warmth and kindness to all who knew her.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: Michelle Peterson, Richard (Kelly) Sanders, Ted Sanders, and Theresa Iid. Her legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren: Stephanie (Tim), Jaccob, Ashlie, Elizabeth, Madelin, Joshua, Johnathan, Steven (Hope), Joy, Jessica (Jason), and bonus grandchildren Jeff (Hannah), Jamie (Joanna), Nicole (Ben), and Henry (Andi). Her great-grandchildren, Piper, Breckin, Conall, Aeden, Liam, Raylynn, Finnley, Noah, Ellie, Vincent, and Olive, will carry forward the light and love she shared with them.
Darleen is survived by her devoted siblings: James (the late Vickie), Gloria, Carolyn (Dave), John (Pam), and George (Jane). She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard "Doug" Sanders, her granddaughter Sommer, and her siblings Kathleen and Lenard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Coalition of Black Lung and Respiratory Disease in her honor. Darleen's memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
