Obituary

Dennis M. Sweet, aged 73, passed away on March 19, 2026, in Livonia, Michigan. He was born on October 6, 1952 in Trenton, Michigan, a beloved husband, brother, uncle, and friend to many.  He served in the Army during the Vietnam War and was a dedicated Ford Motor Company employee for 36 years.

Dennis was a man of simple pleasures who found joy in the little things. As a classic car enthusiast, he spent countless hours admiring and restoring vintage vehicles. His passion for smoking meats and pork brought family and friends together for many memorable gatherings. Dennis also had a green thumb and took great pride in working in his yard, creating a serene and welcoming environment. When not tending to his home or cars, he could often be found on Duck Lake, casting a line and enjoying the tranquility of fishing at his lake house.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Irene Sweet, and his brother-in-law, Kevin Sullivan. Dennis leaves behind his devoted wife of 24 years, Sandra Sweet. He is also survived by his brother, Gary (Micky Claire) Sweet; his brothers and sisters in law; Ralph (Carolyn) Tucker, Barbara (Dennis) Liske, and Lori Tucker-Sullivan, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

Dennis will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will forever be cherished by his family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Glioblastoma Research Organization.
