Obituary
Jeff Stehle, aged 66, passed away on April 6, 2026, in Trenton, Michigan. He was born in Anchorage, Alaska, in 1959, and was a beloved husband, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a dedicated letter carrier for 33 years.
Jeff wanted to explore the world and made many new dear friends whom he kept in touch with through his email travel blogs. He had an encyclopedic knowledge and deep interest in history, automobiles, photography, architecture, travel destinations, and Greek mythology. He held strong political opinions.
Jeff thoroughly researched his family genealogy for many years and brought to life past generations and their stories, some of whom settled in Franklin, Michigan, long ago. He was in close contact with the Franklin Historical Museum and recently donated much of his findings to them. He purchased gravestones for the unmarked graves of long-lost relatives from another century. Jeff travelled to Germany to meet distant relatives for the first time and see the little town his ancestors came from.
Jeff loved to walk or ride his bike in near or distant Metroparks, and while on his travels. Always on the go, with his camera equipment in tow, Jeff was a creative photographer. He posted many photographs on Instagram. He loved nature and being outdoors, always searching for new places to see and write his travel blogs about.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Stehle, and his mother, Gay Stevens, and stepfather, "Steve" Stevens. Jeff leaves behind his devoted wife, Patti Stehle. He is survived by his sister, Dianah Stehle; his mother-in-law, Ann Miller; and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Jeff's Odyssey of wandering the world has ended. The Fates have brought him home to rest at Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery much sooner than we would have ever thought. We are grievously mourning his loss and our memories of him will be cherished for the rest of our lives.
