Obituary

Donald Theodore Szczesny, born on January 8, 1937, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2024, in Wyandotte, Michigan, at the age of 87.

Donald dedicated his professional life to his work as a Millwright for DTE and has been retired for 27 years, where he was known for his unwavering dedication and exceptional skill in fixing things. Beyond his professional endeavors, Donald was a man who cherished his family deeply and found joy in helping others whenever he could.

Preceded in death by his parents, John and Eva, and his brother, John, Donald leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. He is survived by his devoted wife, Marian; his loving daughter, Terese (Stephen) Laskey; and his cherished grandchildren, Maria (Christopher) Brohl, Rachel (Anuraag) Teli, and Paul Bradley. Donald was also a proud great-grandfather to Bennet and Hanzi.

Additionally, he is survived by his dear sister, Connie (David) Couture, who will forever hold him in her heart.

Donald’s passing leaves a void that will be deeply felt by all who knew him. His memory will be carried forward in the hearts of his family and friends, whose lives he touched with his generosity and love.
