Obituary

Edward "Ed" Frank Sharbnow, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on February 1, 2026, in Taylor, Michigan, at the age of 86. Born on November 21, 1939, in Wyandotte, Michigan, Ed lived a life full of love, service, and dedication to his family, faith, and community.

Ed was a proud retiree of Ford Motor Company, where he worked diligently and was a respected member of the UAW Local 600. His commitment to his country was evident through his service in the United States Army, during which he bravely fought at the Bay of Pigs.

A man of deep faith, Ed was very involved in his church, Trenton Church of God, where he dedicated many years to teaching Bible School. His love for music was well known; he sang beautifully and played both the bass and guitar with passion. Ed also enjoyed spending time on the golf course, where his good sense of humor and selfless nature shone brightly. He also loved watching John Wayne movies.

Ed is preceded in death by his beloved son Johnny Ray Sharbnow; his parents, Frank and Alta Sharbnow; his brothers, Richard (Pat) and Arnold (Sandy) Sharbnow; and his sister, Bea Sharbnow.

He leaves behind his devoted wife, Louise, of 64 years; his son, Dewayne Sharbnow; his daughter, Mary Combs; seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Harry (Linda) and Al (Carol) Sharbnow, as well as dear friends Steve and Jennifer Little, and many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Visitation will be held at the Michigan Memorial Funeral Home on Monday, February 9, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A service to honor Ed's life will take place on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at 10:00 AM, beginning with the Downriver Honor Guard commemorating his military service. Interment will follow at Michigan Memorial Park.
