Obituary
Gwendolyn Gay Strong, born on November 18, 1937, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away on February 10, 2026, in Brownstown, Michigan, at the age of 88.
Gwendolyn was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who dedicated her life to her family and community. Known for her caring nature and unwavering support, she touched the lives of many through her work as a teacher's aide with the Livonia School System and her nearly two decades of service at Meijer.
A devoted hockey mom and grandma, Gwendolyn found immense joy in supporting her children and grandchildren in their pursuits, always cheering them on from the sidelines. Her greatest delight came from spending time with her family, and she cherished every moment shared with her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Kathryn Ferrero. Gwendolyn is survived by her loving children, Sherrie Buker, Lori (Tom) See, Sandy Strong (John Rogin), Stan (Sue) Strong and the late Julie Strong. She leaves behind seven cherished grandchildren: Johnny, Kelley, Michael, Anthony, Olivia, Emily, and the late Brent, as well as her treasured great-grandchildren: Carder, Cooper, Liam, Jake, and Nico.
Gwendolyn’s warmth, love, and dedication to her family will be remembered and missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love of those she held dear.
