Schuman, Howard, age 78, formerly of New Boston, July 9, 2011. Beloved husband of Jan. Loving father of Shelley (Jeff) Schlump, Tim (Pam) Schuman and Jeff (Deantha) Schuman. Dear grandfather of Alicia, Andrew, Amy, Andrea and Bekah. He is also survived by his brother Melvin. He is preceded in death by his parents Martin and Ida Schuman and his brother Harold. Howard was born in Taylor, MI, on January 22, 1933 to the parents of Martin and Ida (Bragenzer) Schuman. Howard graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1951. He married Janice Eberlein in 1955. They built a home and moved to New Boston, Mi. in 1960. Along with helping on the family farm, he was a tool and die maker at White Tool in Taylor and then worked at Ford Motor Co. Rawsonville, Belleville, MI for 29 years. He retired in 1994 when they moved to Indian River, MI. There Jan and Howie enjoyed their pontoon boat, snowmobiling, and traveling around the country building churches with Builders for Christ. As a member of Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church in Indian River, Howard was instrumental in their building project. Howie also volunteered as a golf course ranger and enjoyed golfing at the Indian River Golf Club.
