SOUTHERS, James E, age 82, of Newport, November 10, 2010. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth Southers. Loving father Jamie (Jeannie) Southers III. Dearest grandfather Abby and Josh and great-grandfather of Callie. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Arlene Southers and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Carmyn Southers, his brothers Glen and Ronald Southers and his sister-in-law Faye Southers. He was a member of jaycee’s, a life member of Swan Boat Club, a post man, teacher and principal. He was an avid sailor, he loved going on mystery trips with his family and he was a great story teller. James loved life.
Condolences
Mr. Southers ~ a man who turned my life around while I was his student in the fifth grade at Custer Elementary school in Monroe, Michigan. There aren't enough superlatives to describe a teacher who went over and above his duties. You left your imprint on so many people, Jim. Thank you will never be enough.
