Obituary
Joyce Christine Shipley, a cherished soul who graced this world with her warmth and kindness, passed away on February 10, 2025, in Lincoln Park, Michigan. Born on September 17, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan, Joyce lived a life full of love and devotion, reaching the age of 82.
A dedicated homemaker, Joyce found her greatest joy in spending time with her family and loved ones. Her home was a sanctuary of love, laughter, and cherished memories, where she nurtured not only her children but also the hearts of all who knew her. Her gentle spirit and unwavering support were the foundation upon which her family thrived.
Joyce was an active member of Forecast For Life Church in Southgate, Michigan, where she found community and spiritual fulfillment. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life, inspiring those around her to live with compassion and grace.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Claude Shipley, Joyce is now reunited with him in eternal peace. She was the beloved daughter of Carl and Ruth Eitner, whose legacy of love she carried forward.
Joyce leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor her memory: her sons John, David, and Robert (Amy) Shipley; her treasured grandchildren Ashley, Hollie, Jared, Melissa, Cheyenne, and Pearl; and her great-grandchildren Brian, Briley, Makenna, and Mayson. She is also survived by her sisters Bonnie Bourland, Leona Cadariu, and Eileen Hughey, her brother Joel Eitner, and many nieces, nephews, family, and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2025, from 2:00 to 8:00 pm. A service to celebrate Joyce's life will take place on Monday, February 17, 2025, at 10:00 am, followed by interment at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joyce's name can be made to Forecast For Life Church, honoring her commitment to faith and community.
