Obituary

After a courageous 17-year battle with lymphoma, Juanita has peacefully entered into her eternal life in Heaven. Juanita was born in Highland Park, and spent her childhood in the city of Taylor, where she developed a love of music and playing the guitar. She also enjoyed going to Detroit Tigers baseball games with her father, and spending time with her cousins. Juanita attended St. Alfred’s Catholic School, and then graduated in 1973 from Taylor Center High School. She then moved to a rural homestead in New Boston which she fondly referred to as “Krazy Kritter Farm.” It was there that she shared her passion for animals with her four daughters, providing a caring home for everything from cats and dogs to hamsters and an iguana. After happily spending 15 years as a stay-at-home mother, Juanita rejoined the workforce to help support her daughters, ultimately taking pride as an employee of the student financial operations department at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. A devout Catholic, Juanita always felt a special devotion to the rosary and St. Therese. Juanita was always the first person to offer words of encouragement to others in the challenges they faced, and never missed celebrating a special occasion with a joyous card covered with stickers. She genuinely cared about the lives of her friends and family, and shared in their triumphs and tribulations.Juanita is now reunited in Heaven with her loving father Henry and mother Felicia Jamroz, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She is survived by four daughters - Julie (David) Sweetman, Joann (John) Stewart, Barbara Swatek, and Mary Swatek, their father Gene (Bonnie) Swatek, and five grandsons - Joseph, Daniel, Andrew, Christopher, and Ryan.

Condolences

  • Juanita and I worked together for a long time and when she had to go on disability because of her health I stayed in contact with her. We became close. I would call her on my way home from work 2 to 3 times a week and visit her. We would talk about family and what was going on in her life and mine. We would pray for each other and our families. Whenever she was in the hospital I would visit her and take my youngest grandson Jalontae. That was her buddy and she when she would come a visit she sould always bring something for him like candy and cookies. I will surely miss visiting with her and our phone calls. I pray that the Lord will put His loving arms around you giving you peace and comfort. Love you Mary Lou Anderson
  • Juanita and I have known each other since the first grade at St. Alfred Catholic School in Taylor, MI. We graduated from Taylor Center High in 1973. We lived down the street from each other in New Boston for many years while her daughters and my sons were growing up. We stayed in contact with each other through the years although not as often as we would have liked to. I will miss her, and I will remember her fondly all the rest of my life! I send my condolences to her wonderful family and I want them all to know that I will be praying for God to strengthen them and comfort them with His undying love! Mary Boudrie
