Obituary

Was born on November 30, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan to the late James and Irene (Carbary) Schulte. His mother passed away when he was only nine years old. From then on, he was raised at the St. Francis Home For Boys in Detroit. He married the love of his life, Marilyn Schook on January 19, 1952. Lyle and Marilyn had three children, Lyle (Jeff), Cynthia (Cindy) and Kristi. He served honorably in the US Army where he was a supply sergeant in the Korean War. He was an engineer for General Motors. First, he was in the Chevrolet Gear & Axel Division and then in the Pontiac Truck & Bus Division. His passion for automobiles was a huge part of his life. Multiple family trips were made to the Auburn Indiana Car Auctions. He was also the past President of the Model A Restorers Club at Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Michigan. Marilyn passed away suddenly in 1988. He retired from General Motors in 1989 and relocated to Tucson, Arizona. In 1997, while living in Tucson, he met and married Sarah (Head) Damer. They moved to Ashland City, Tennessee the following year, enjoying their life together for 20 years. Lyle and Sarah were members of Shady Grove Free Will Baptist Church.
