Obituary

Michael Scott Stimpson, born May 8, 1976, in Dearborn, Michigan, passed away on June 11, 2024, in Westland, Michigan, at the age of 48.

Michael is survived by his loving family: his father Randy, mother Vel, brother Jeff (Carrie) Stimpson, sister Amy (Scott) Lewald, and niece and nephews Noah, Ethan, Luke, Sarah, Zach, Caleb, Blake, Toby, as well as uncles Richard (Terry) Whitley and Duane (Mary) Whitley, several cousins, his dearest girlfriend Nadia Ursescu, and Nadia's children Dylan and Audrina. Michael is preceded in death by his grandparents, and his uncle, Don.

A diligent and dedicated Radiology Supervisor for over 10 years at the University of Michigan Hospital, Michael's professional commitment was marked by excellence and leadership.

Beyond his career, he cherished moments engaging in his many passions. He found joy in being out on the golf course with his friends, enthusiastically supporting U of M Football as well as the Detroit Lions, and creating lasting memories at Myrtle Beach with his beloved family. Notably, he treasured time spent with his niece and nephews. His compassionate nature resonated deeply with those around him, and attending Woodside Baptist Church in Troy, Michigan, reflected his profound faith.

Services to honor Michael's life will take place with a visitation on Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM, followed by a celebration of life service at 2:30 PM. Interment will be at Michigan Memorial Park.

  • Mike was one of the most genuine, authentic people, in or out of the Radiology community. His warmth and humor left an impact on anyone he interacted with. Mike would have your back, quick to offer a word of support or a funny story to make the day a little easier. A true friend you could count on, more like a brother in many ways. Going to miss the daily texts, weekly golf outings, and just talking sports or life. Condolences and best wishes to the entire Stimpson Family, Nadia Family, and the Michigan Medicine and Radiology community. Looking forward to our next tee time my guy. TC Thornton
