Obituary

Patricia “Patty” Ann Smith died peacefully in her daughter’s home on December 12, 2016 in Tampa, Florida at the age of 60 years old. She was born February 05, 1956 in Dearborn, Michigan to Joseph and Eleanor (Schalk) Belanger. She was a loving wife, adored mother, devoted sister and beloved daughter. She is survived by her husband Douglas Smith of New Boston; four children Lieutenant Colonel (USAF) Emily Farkas (Robert) of Tampa, Florida, Douglas Smith, Jr., of Monroe, Kurtis Smith of New Boston, and Katie Smith of Flat Rock; seven grandchildren, Matthew Farkas, Jackson Farkas, Trevor Smith, Ava Smith, Dion Bentley, Jayden Petree, and Olivia Demick; two sisters Deborah (Michael) Frascarelli of Riverview and Sandy (Tom) Medici of Allen Park; and her parents Joseph and Eleanor Belanger of Riverview. She is preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law Beverly (Raymond) Good. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the United Service Organizations (USO) at https://www.uso.org
