Obituary
Patricia Jo Shears, 78, of New Boston, Michigan, passed away on May 27, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 30, 1947, in Asheville, North Carolina, Patricia lived a life full of love, adventure, and cherished moments.
Patricia's heart found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a passion for exploring the world, delighting in the experiences and cultures she encountered along her travels. Her journeys took her to many places, but her favorite destination was always wherever her family and friends were gathered. A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Patricia was known for her warm hospitality, often expressed through her love of cooking, which brought everyone together around her table.
As a dedicated partner in the family business and a committed realtor, Patricia found fulfillment in contributing to her community and helping others find homes where they could create their own cherished memories. Her kindness, integrity, and unwavering support were felt by all who knew her. She was also a beautician, and wore many hats, none more important than that of a mom and friend.
Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Shears; her daughter, Tracey Shears; and her parents, Joseph Frye and Jeanette Swift. She leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter through her surviving family: her children, Tonya (Samuel) Shears-Hill and James Shears; her treasured grandchildren, Areona, Mark, Tristan, and Janel; her dear sister, Brenda (Robert) Leslie and nephews. Patricia also leaves behind countless friends who will fondly remember her warmth, generosity, and vibrant spirit.
Though she has left this world, Patricia’s memory will forever live in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known and loved her.
