Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Robert Dale Scott announces his passing on August 29, 2026, in Wyandotte, Michigan, at the age of 64. Born on June 1, 1962, in Detroit, Michigan, Robert leaves behind his loving family and countless friends who will miss him immensely.

Rob was a proud, patriotic, God fearing, hardworking man who believed in giving his all to the things and especially the people he cared for. He worked hard and played hard, building his life through determination and an independent spirit. He was a professional truck driver, although his passion lied in being a mechanic customizing Harley Davidsons. Rob knew the meaning of hard work and took pride in what he accomplished. He was especially proud to be a Monroe County landowner and the life he built for himself. He enjoyed working his property, remodeling his home, and fishing and hunting in his own backyard.

When Rob wasn’t working, you could find him wrenching on motorcycles in his shop. He was a proud LIFE member of the Detroit Iron Mustangs Motorcycle Club. Being a biker was a big part of who he was. He especially loved the brotherhood he found within the motorcycle club community.

Above everything else was his family. Rob loved them deeply and was fiercely loyal to those he called his own. To be loved by Rob was to know that he was in your corner. His strength, devotion, and loyalty will remain an enduring part of the family and friends he leaves behind.

Robert was preceded in death by his father, Dale Scott.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Kim Edison; his daughters, Whitney (James) Anderson and Chelsey (Kevin) Mackowski; and his five cherished grandchildren, Hailey, Ashlyn, Averie, Kade, and Kenna. He is also survived by his mother, Mary Kocsis; his brothers, Kevin (Rechele) Scott, Randy (Eva Baker) Scott, and Mathew Scott, and his nephew, Dan Scott. As well as his brothers of the Iron Mustangs, other motorcycle club members, and many additional family members and friends who loved him dearly.

A memorial visitation honoring Robert’s life will be held at Michigan Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with memory sharing at 6:00 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Andre Bessette Parish in Ecorse, Michigan, on Saturday, September 12, 2026. Instate will be 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m.

Family and friends are encouraged to gather at Michigan Memorial Funeral Home at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday to join the procession to St. Andre Bessette Parish, accompanying Rob as he makes the journey in a Harley Davidson motorcycle hearse. Following mass, Robert's final ride will begin at St. Andre Bessette Parish and conclude at Rob's home, where the family invites you to stay for lunch. A fitting farewell for a man who loved his motorcycle, the brothers that rode beside him, and the comfort of being at home.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made in Robert’s honor to Game On Cancer.

Ride free, Robert. Your final ride may end at home, but the miles, memories, and brotherhood you leave behind will carry on.
