Obituary
Robert William Sakey, a beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2024, in Trenton at the age of 83. Born on May 11, 1941, in Detroit, Robert lived a life enriched by his passions and love for family.
Robert was a man of many talents and interests. He found great joy in working with his hands, spending countless hours indulging in his love for model train collecting, restoring antique bicycles, woodworking, and building various projects. His fascination with history and classic Disney animation memorabilia kept his mind sharp, and he enjoyed sharing his knowledge and stories with those around him.
Robert is survived by his loving children, Jennifer (Chris) Sigouin and Robert Sakey II, beloved grandchild James Sigouin, and dear sister, Ilona Sakey. His family was his pride and joy, and he treasured the moments spent with them. He was a devoted family man, having been preceded in death by his cherished wife, Sandra Sakey, his parents, Elmer and Helen Sakey, and his brother, Thomas Sakey.
Robert's warmth, creativity, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Kidney Foundation in his memory.
