Obituary
In Loving Memory of Dr. Sonika Singh
June 2, 1979 – November 15, 2025
Southgate, Michigan
Dr. Sonika Singh was born on June 2, 1979, in Meerut, India, and went to sleep in Jesus on November 15, 2025, at the age of 46. She was the beloved daughter of Mr. Dewan and Bimla Singh, a daughter who cared for her parents like a parent, wise and supportive sister to Pushpa and Neetu who kept them grounded through life’s ups and downs, and cherished aunt (Onu Masi) to her nieces, Sienna and Shiloh, striving to teach them to put God first in everything. She lived a life marked by unwavering faith and immeasurable love.
Sonika’s life was marked by resilience and steadfast faith. She first battled cancer in her 20s, and after years of remission, faced another courageous fight beginning in January 2025. Through every challenge, her praise for God never wavered. She was wise beyond her years, always seeking God’s wisdom in everything she did. Her decisions, compassion, gentleness, and strength all flowed from a life rooted deeply in faith. One of her favorite declarations of faith was the simple yet powerful line: “It is well with my soul.” She carried that peace with her through every season.
Sonika’s love for her family knew no bounds. She poured her heart into every relationship and blessed those around her with kindness, compassion, and quiet strength. She approached her calling as a Doctor of Physical Therapy with remarkable dedication, loving her patients, advocating for them, teaching them, and celebrating every step of their progress. Her gentle encouragement and skilled hands brought comfort, healing, and dignity to countless lives.
Her heart for animals was another beautiful part of who she was. Deeply involved with the ASPCA, she devoted much of her time to supporting animal rescue efforts. She was a devoted companion to her beloved dog, Bella, and one of her greatest joys was “adopting” Sissy, an elephant at The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee—a reflection of her compassion for all of God’s creatures.
She found peace and joy in reading her Bible, singing old hymns, and spending time in nature—places where she felt closest to her Savior.
Dr. Sonika Singh’s life was a testimony of grace, perseverance, and faithful devotion. She leaves behind a legacy of love, courage, compassion, and unshakable trust in God.
She is dearly loved and deeply missed. May she rest in His perfect peace.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Elephant named Sissy at the Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee on Sonika's behalf.
