Obituary

Walter William Stec Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle passed away on April 21, 2026, in New Boston, Michigan. He was born on May 25, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan, and lived a life full of love and cherished moments, reaching the age of 82.

Walter found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly spending time with his family. He delighted in camping trips to Jellystone Park, where he could enjoy the beauty of nature alongside those he loved most. A devoted fan of the Detroit Tigers, Walter enjoyed watching games on television, cheering for his team. His passion for automobiles was evident in the lively conversations he shared with his brothers, discussing cars.

Walter was preceded in death by his brother, David Stec. He is survived by his devoted wife, Velda Jo Stec, who stood by his side for 52 years together. His legacy lives on through his children: Beth (Kevin) Godin, Denise (Scott) Golembiewski, Barret (Sandra) Stec, and Erin (John) Purcell. Walter's memory will also be cherished by his grandchildren: Abigail (William) Bacon, Zachary Godin, Ava Golembiewski, Katie Golembiewski, Alexandria Stec, Nicholas Stec, Bradley Purcell, Hannah Purcell, Emily Purcell, and Leah Purcell. He is also survived by his brother, Eugene Stec.

Walter's warmth, kindness, and dedication to his family will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched throughout his life.
