Obituary
Bonnie Jean Toomer, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on September 28, 2026, in Wyandotte, Michigan. Born on December 18, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan, she lived a full and vibrant life of 79 years.
Bonnie was known for her spirited nature and well-articulated opinions. She had a deep love for animals and found joy in being near the water, which brought her peace and happiness throughout her life. In her younger years, she was very active and cherished spending time surrounded by her family, especially her little grandchildren, whom she adored dearly. Her presence at classic car shows and visits to the casino, where she often emerged victorious, were testament to her zest for life and adventurous spirit.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Walter Toomer, her siblings Sharon Lowry and Gerald Lowry, her son Ron Lowry, her granddaughter Brandy Wilson, and her parents Dorothy and Robert Lowry.
Bonnie's legacy lives on through her children Sherry Simis, Robert Wilson, and Layla (Daniel Brown) Toomer. She was a proud grandmother to Tom, Amanda Carroll and Ron Lowry Jr., and a great-grandmother to Charles Tobias Wilson, Keyeira-Alexis, Ellie-Anna, Jayden-Xavier Croft, and Sabastian and Emmalease Lowry. Her family further extends with her beloved great-great-grandchildren Destiney Brown and Zeek Brown. Bonnie is also survived by her dear brother Butch (Ester) Lowry.
Her family and friends will forever remember her as a lively and loving woman who left a lasting impact on all who knew her. Bonnie’s memory will be cherished and celebrated by those she loved and who loved her in return.
