Obituary

Charlene Bissett Tuggle, born on August 21, 1936, in Wyandotte, Michigan, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2025, in Detroit, Michigan, at the age of 88. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of those fortunate enough to know her.

Charlene was a woman of kindness and warmth, known for her gentle spirit and deep love for her family. Her home was often filled with the joyful sounds of music, especially her cherished Brazilian tunes, swing, and cha-cha rhythms. A graceful dancer, she delighted in teaching her family members how to swing dance, creating precious memories that will be cherished forever.

Her love for her family was evident in everything she did. Charlene adored her grandchildren, Daniel, Rebecca, Dominik, Joshua, and Anika, and treasured the time she spent with them. She also had a special fondness for her children’s golden retrievers, who brought her endless joy.

Charlene enjoyed watching television, especially when the Detroit Lions were playing, cheering them on with unwavering loyalty. Her sweet tooth was legendary among her loved ones, with a particular fondness for sweet potato pie, chocolate, and peanut butter.

Charlene is preceded in death by her loving parents, Charles Bissett and Alma Dluzniewski. She leaves behind her devoted children, Art (Beth) Zasadny and Brian (Gina) Zasadny, her cherished grandchildren, and her dear sister Mary Jo Reid, all of whom carry forward her legacy of love and joy.

Her memory will forever be a guiding light in the hearts of her family and friends. Charlene's life was a testament to kindness, familial love, and the power of music to bring people together. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Her cremation will take place at “The Witness Crematory” located inside of Michigan Memorial Funeral Home.
