Obituary

Beloved husband of Jill Tortonesi. Dearest step-father of Erin Hancz and Bryan (Brittany) Hancz. Loving grandfather of Ryan, Lauren, Brianna and Nevaeh. Devoted son of
Fred Tortonesi. He was also survived by his siblings Fred Tortonesi Jr., Pat (Lee) Janice, June (Mark) Farrah and Janay (Tony) Bongiorno. He was loved and will be missed by several nieces and nephews. He was preceeded in death by his mother Mary Tortonesi.

Dave was a man of God with a gentle, kind, and generous soul. He was genuine, loved and a friend to all. He was intelligent, quick to give a smile, and share a laugh to lift your day.

Dave was an avid golfer and had a love for baseball that he shared with his Grandson Ryan. He lovingly dedicated his days, evenings, and weekends to anything that Ryan was involved in, such as being a Baseball Coach and Scout Leader. He was always quick to lend a hand. Dave was often volunteering to get Ryan and his teammates and friends to their tournaments and activities. He also loved to spend time with his dog, Holly,  in the backyard while trying new recipes in the smoker.

He will be missed by all who knew him.

  • Always a twinkle in his eye, a smile on his face and a soft voice. He palled with my brother Joe in middle school and would come to our house. He was my first crush. Cannot believe his time was short. Dearest Jill and family we send our love❤️ RIP Dave Liz (Zugschwert)Lee
  • I've worked with Dave for many years and no matter how stressful things got he was always lightening the room with a joke. He was a pleasure to have around the office and will be missed. My sincerest condolences to Jill and Ryan. I've heard a lot about you both over the years.
  • Jill and Ryan and family, I am so truly sorry for this loss. The words to say are impossible to come up with. I enjoyed meeting Dave and Jill 8 years ago in baseball and getting to know some of their other family, as well. Dave always had a smile, a warm greeting, offering a helping hand and was SO PROUD of Ryan. It was warming to see and to be around the presence of Dave, Jill and Ryan. I pray you all find peace and guidance on this journey of healing. Due to work obligations out of town, I’m not able to pay my respects in person, but I will be praying for your family. Rest In Peace Dave, and it was a real pleasure knowing you. ❤️ Salyna Davis
  • It truly was a blessing and an honor to have known Dave. The way he loved and advocated for his family was inspiring. I know he will be missed by many. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. Beth Wagensomer (Ms. Beth)
  • Dave was a regular at our Mens Golf Outing and over the past 15+ years I was privileged to have come to know him and to have enjoyed his kind demeanor and his ability to view the world through a humorous lens. He was so full of life and engagement it’s simply a shock and disappointment to me that he is no longer with us. In his honor I will strive to get more meaning out of my remaining life and will hope dearly to cross his path and shake his hand in the next life. 🙏❤️🍀 Bill Kane
