Obituary

Doris E Tucker, 90, died Sunday night August 23rd, 2026 at her son’s home in Owensboro, KY. Born on April 29, 1936 to the late QL Smith and Verna Medley Brewer. Ms. Tucker was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Sam Smith, Frances Dukes, and Wilma Castro, daughter Marilyn Nagy, daughter Debbie Tucker, and her husband Robbie Tucker passed in 1977.  She survived the passing of many friends, extended family, and pets.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. A seamstress at Fisher Body Plant in Livonia, Michigan for 30+ years until retirement. She was very social, loved to stay busy by working around the house and yard, and was a steadfast member of her Taylor, Michigan neighborhood until April 2025. She had a special relationship with her grandson, Derik Covetz, always being there when he needed her.  She would continue that special bond with his son DJ Covetz spending lots of quality time together. She always took it upon herself to be the caregiver anyone was lacking or needed. She was genuinely fun to be around and had a great sense of humor with a beautiful smile.

Those left with her memories include remaining child, son Robert Tucker of Owensboro, KY. Grandchild Derik Covetz (Breanne) of Daytona Beach FL, Grandchild Jennifer (Brian) Morgan of Utica KY, Grandchild Jacob Tucker of Owensboro, KY. Great grandchildren including; Wyatt Morgan, DJ Covetz, and Grace Morgan. Family friends Duane and Elaine Conklin.

Service and transportation provided by Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory to Michigan Memorial Funeral Home in Flat Rock, MI. A personal memorial will follow after burial.  The family would like to thank the staff of Dr. Michael J.
