Condolences

  • He loved John Hagee Ministry. He loved Johnny Cash, and "Walk the Line"; the tribute to Johnny Cash. He loved anything Bible and Jesus related. He loved watching the discovery channel (nature and national geographic) and the history channel. He loved talking about all of these things for hours. And if you had something new to add to it... He listened. One of his BEST preachings that come to mind... Is when he talked about how when you look at your spouse, they are looking into a mirror. They are your reflection. When you see them, you see yourself. So when you hurt them you hurt yourself. To always remember to love them. Because you never want to hurt yourself. He had so many good preachings over the years... Through the church and through counseling. That is the one that truly stook with me every day; that was through his counseling. Alicia Amond
  • Sending my deepest condolences to the family of my sweet Pastor Brother Gilbert Teague Jr. I met him when I was 21 years old and that was one of the best and blessed days of my life in which I was saved in his church that day. I will ALWAYS be beyond thankful for his selfless love, prayers, POWERFUL sermons, support and gentleness, boldness and many other influences that he bestowed upon me throughout my life. He was not only my Pastor, he was also my brother, my friend, and my family, He is and will always be in my heart until I see him again face to face in Heaven. What a great reunion it will be! As we once sung on the phone one time together, we will sing Elvis’s song “Blue Suede Shoes” again while dancing on the clouds of Heaven! Carli Alam
  • Pastor Gilbert Wess Teague, Jr. was the MOST LOVING pastor there ever was. He cared so much for his church flock, treating them as family; calling them all Brothers and Sisters in Christ. He would get to know each member individually, talking for hours; he was a very good listener. He counseled each of us. Saving us from all kinds of heart aches that life throws at you to talking about the apostles and Alexander the Great to the Bible. He was always there for you, no matter what time nor day. He gave his WHOLE LIFE to the ministry of Jesus. His favorite scriptures were: The Sinner's Prayer - Romans Ch.10 verses 9-13 (The Salvation Message) The Love Doctrine - 1 Corinthians Ch.13 The Rapture Doctrine And Revelations Ch. 21, describing Heaven He will always tell the congregation, Get Ready and Standfast in the Lord. Stay in Jesus. Faith Tabernacle Church was his secondary home. He would go out to eat with the Church every Sunday (almost) and we would be a FAMILY for hours; to literally closing time. Some times we even have dinner at the church, up stairs. We would mostly eat Benito's Pizza, once in a while Pot Luck, and one time KFC. He loved Billy Graham's Preaching; always calling him Brother Graham. He also liked Cathy Cumin. Martin Luther (the Apostasy Church). He water baptized, and dedicated, every member of the church. He loved Southern Gospel Music; especially Gold City and The Happy Goodmans. "I'm Not Giving Up" and "What a Beautiful Day" were his favorite. He loved reading the Bible, KJV. He even gave bibles away that were his family. Him, and his family, had recorded so many tapes on their sermons over the years. Those tapes are worth more than gold. He helped everyone. He would even give you the shirt off his back and his last $100. He always help the needy. He would give rides. He had the MOST giving heart. The MOST unselfish man. The MOST patient man. He truly is what the God kind of Love is. He loved old westerns, "Tombstone" and "The Duke". Anything Clint Eastwood and John Wayne. Indiana Jones, "Secondhand Lions" (him and Tim) and "Gone with the Wind" and "Scarlet". He love going to Mammoth Video. He loved watching Bible movies (about Jesus, Jerusalem the MOST). He loved watching animal shows on the Nature Channel. He loved going to the movies. He love food. China King (sesame chicken), Sam's Place (the Red Apple), Happy's Pizza (veggie pizza, catfish dinner, jumbo shrimp, rib tips and desserts) and Jet's (ham and cheese sandwiches). He loved Old Country Buffet, KFC (his mom and his favorite) and Benito's Pizza. He knew almost every kind of Coney there was. His favorite meal growing up was when his mom, Ruth, will make pinto beans and cornbread (every Thursday). He loved Peanut M&M's, Cracker Jacks, Cheddar and Sour Cream Chips. Diet Mt. Dew, Diet Pepsi, Pepsi and Root Beer were his favorite pops. He loved Air Shows; especially the Blue Angels in Belleville, every August. He had a yearly membership to the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. He loved going to the Detroit Zoo and looking at Bald Eagles for hours. He loved animals and had a vast amount of knowledge on all different kinds; from farm animals to African animals and so on. He loved going to Wolverine and Top Gun to target shoot. His favorite animals were his red nose pitbull, Tiger, and his cockatoo, Huck short for Huckleberry (who he taught how to say, "Praise Jesus", "You're So Sweet" & "You're So Cute"). He slept with both. He was proud of his heritage, especially his Irish background. He loved his red F-150 single cab low rider, which David told him to buy from Brother Brandon. He called it his "Huckleberry". He also loved his tan ZX2 escort that he called "Donkey". Lastly, he loved his white Equinox Tim got him. He loved to joke around. He had the BEST laugh. He loved playing football; he played in High School. He loved giving his mom a bouquet of red roses every Mother's Day. They were the BEST of pals. He took her to KFC and Goodwill all the time. He even gave her an Oscar Trophy that reads, "World's Greatest Mom", that he gave to his Sister Alicia when she became a mother. He would talk about Brother Brandon, his wife Sister Alicia and their two boys, Isaac and Alex, all the time to his family. At one point, his brother Tim looked at him and said, "Gilbert, you know he's not your grandchild." (Referring to Isaac, before Alex was born.) He didn't care. Their children was his grandchildren. Brother Brandon was like a son to him; so it only made since he looked at Sister Alicia like his daughter, and their children, Isaac and Alex, as grandchildren. Out of all the church congregation, he hung out with Brandon the MOST, not only at Faith Tabernacle (for church and their Men's group) but every where and for hours, sometimes all day. Brandon looked at Pastor and Brother Gilbert more than just a BEST FRIEND, more than a Pastor, more than a Brother... He was like his Father. He looked to him for everything that pertain not only to the Bible but to Life in itself. He went to him over every little thing; from good to worse. He would talk to him after church for hours, and then they would go out to eat and there as well will they talk for hours. They talked throughout the week. Even celebrate the holidays together. They had years of adventures together. Truly like Father and Son. Pastor Gilbert saved Brother Brandon (and his family, his life) in more ways than one could count. He loved the man with the God kind of Love; which goes deeper than family. Brother Gilbert treated every person like this. You could lean on his shoulder and cry your eyes out. He would stay on the phone with you for hours. He would encourage you. He would save you, in the name of Jesus, from all wrong. He saved Sister Alicia from severe Postpartum and severe PTSD (from both pregnancies), when she was almost at her breaking point, in the name of Jesus. He talked to her each and every single day until the end. (On a fun note, he would give her a Hershey's Chocolate bar at church, on top of his mother's Mom trophy and the Yodeling singing bear.) He made her his little secretary. She would get groceries, and more. He was her number one friend at one point, she looked forward to his call every day. He would talk to Sister Carli, Brandon's sister, as much as he could. He loved it when she was able to come church, she lived so far away. She gave him more inspiration for service even. We are his church family and even though we're upset that he is gone, we are happy because our beloved Pastor is finally in Heaven at Peace with our Lord and Savior Jesus. So these are happy tears we cry. Tears of Joy and Love. WE LOVE OUR PASTOR. Until we see you again, Pastor and Brother Gilbert Wess Teague, Jr. Alicia Amond
