Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Randy Scott Torres, who departed this world on December 18, 2024, at the age of 66. Born on November 6, 1958, in Lincoln Park, Michigan, Randy spent his final days in Detroit, Michigan, surrounded by family and loved ones.

Randy's life was a testament to the love and dedication he had for his family. An unwavering presence in his children's lives, he attended every concert, play, and event, no matter the circumstances. His love for his family knew no bounds, and he was a constant source of support and encouragement.

A devoted teacher of Religious Education, Randy shared his knowledge and passion with many over the years. He served as a scoutmaster, instilling a love for camping and the great outdoors in many young hearts. Known for his sweet nature and a delightful sense of humor, Randy was the undisputed king of dad jokes, bringing laughter and joy to all who knew him. He also possessed an unconditional love for people, always quick to forgive and never one to hold grudges. He had a remarkable ability to see the best in everyone, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and compassion.

Preceded in death by his parents, John and Doreen Torres, and his brothers, John Torres, Alan Torres, and James Torres, Randy leaves behind a loving family. He is survived by his cherished children: Randy (Breanna) Torres, Sarah (Dennis) Sullivan, Peter Torres, and Aimee (Scott) Roteman. His memory will also be treasured by his beloved grandchildren: Elijah, Eliana, and Evelyn. Randy was a dear uncle to many nieces and nephews and a beloved sibling to Janine (John) Howe, Richard (Sara) Torres, and Michelle (Kevin) Harris.

Randy's warmth and generosity will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made out to the Torres Family.

Cremation will take place at the Michigan Memorial Funeral Home Witness Crematory.

Condolences

  • It was with great sadness I heard of Randy's passing. Randy is one of my American cousins, part of my family I have, regrettably, all to infrequently had the opportunity to spend time with. However, when I have, those times were so special and mean't so much to me. My memories of Randy from our first times together in 1982, will remain forever. A man with a big heart, great sense of humor and an engaging smile that made one instantly warm to him. A life well lived, now at rest with his Lord. Till we meet again in Heaven. Peter Peter Boyes
  • I am so sorry for your loss. I went to Elementary school with Randy, he was a super funny guy always a joy to be around. Donna Malnar
  • Dear Randy, my sincere condolences on the loss of your father. May your fond memories fill you mind with good remembrances. Mary Lynn Mary Lynn Davis-Ajami
